Gaoqiao

高桥

Pudong's northern-tip district where the Yangtze, the Huangpu and the sea meet: anchored by Binjiang Forest Park's 300-hectare forest loop — former nursery grounds with azalea gardens, a wetland boardwalk and the three-waters confluence bluff — plus the historical Sanchagang ferry point, reached by Line 6 and the 外高桥1路 bus.

Gaoqiao town (高桥镇) sits at the Yangtze mouth — the northernmost point of Pudong, where the Yangtze, the Huangpu and the East China Sea converge at Wusongkou. Its outdoor anchor is Binjiang Forest Park (滨江森林公园), Shanghai's fifth city forest park, opened March 2007 on the former nursery grounds of Sanchagang (三岔港): reported ~300 hectares of near-total forest cover, with the azalea gardens, the wetland boardwalk and the dry-creek trails in the interior, and the riverside bluff where ships pass close and the Paotaiwan Wetland Park sits across the water — Shanghai's only three-waters-confluence viewpoint. The district's second layer is its working history: the Sanchagang ferry point and the Gaoqiao portland along the river, visible from the park's shoreline. Access is the practical note: Line 6 to 港城路站 plus the 外高桥1路 bus, or the car via the outer ring, with the park's remote location making the transport plan part of the day.
